Mr. Dodd represents clients ranging from major corporations, insurance carriers, privately-held companies, self-insured employers and governmental entities in workers' compensation litigation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This includes representation at all stages of claims, including attending depositions and hearings before Workers’ Compensation Judges throughout Pennsylvania. Further, his practice involves advocacy at all stages of appeal, including argument, appellate briefs and amicus briefs before the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Further, his experience includes litigating matters that involve statutory benefit schemes, such as the Heart and Lung Act, the Second Class County Code, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Retirement Code, and providing advice on the respective impact of such benefits on workers’ compensation matters.
Prior to joining R&B in 2001, Mr. Dodd performed and assisted in plaintiff/claimant litigation in various practice areas, including Worker’s Compensation, Social Security and Civil Litigation. Further, he has presented lectures to employers and unions pertaining to issues governed by the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act. This experience provides additional perspective as to the issues and challenges facing employers, insurers and self-insured employers, and has assisted clients in the successful prosecution and defense of claims made by employees under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act.
