Mr. Andreen began his practice of law with Rulis & Bochicchio in the field of workers’ compensation insurance defense beginning in January of 1998.  Since that time he has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of workers’ compensation as well as in dealing with subrogation matters.  Currently, Mr. Andreen litigates workers’ compensation cases on behalf of  Rulis & Bochicchio, representing workers compensation carriers and/or self insured employers.

Currently, Mr. Andreen is pleased to be an editor for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section Newsletter and has done so for several years.  This is a quarterly newsletter prepared by the Honorable David Torrey in which workers’ compensation practitioners are kept appraised of recent developments in the law as it pertains to workers’ compensation.  Mr. Andreen provides commentary as to the impact of new decisions that are issued.

In 2008, Mr. Andreen was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer- Rising Star by Philadelphia Magazine.  Mr. Andreen also has lectured as a faculty member for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute concerning Tough Problems in Workers’ Compensation where he presented on the initial developments concerning the Voluntary Withdrawal from the Workforce argument as well as concerning recent issues in current case law and as to issues involving subrogation.  Mr. Andreen has lectured no behalf of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute at their Advanced Workers’ Compensation Practice Symposium when he spoke about the past, present and future of the Voluntary Withdrawal from the Workforce Argument.  He has also spoken at various seminars presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, at the Bureau Seminar in Hershey as well as for the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association.  In firm seminars Mr. Andreen has presented on this issue as well as on a multitude of different issues.

Presently Mr. Andreen represents the interests of Employers, Insurers, as well as Third Party Administrators in all phases of litigation including at hearings, at medical and lay depositions, as well as throughout the appellate process.  He has been involved in three separate cases that have been decided by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  He also has gained much experience in dealing with non-traditional litigation issues given his close work with employer representatives as well as claims adjusters prior to the initiation of litigation as well as throughout the litigation process.  Further, he deals with various issues not in litigation such as subrogation issues and issues pertaining to self-insured public entities.  Mr. Andreen has gained invaluable experience in dealing with alternative statutory benefit schemes such as Act 534/632, the Heart and Lung Act as well as the Second Class County Code.  In addition to being a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association, Mr. Andreen also is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Bar and has served as a Member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section Council.
